Team Leader

We are seeking a Team Leader to join an industry leading plastic extrusion team based in Minto. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity reporting directly to the Production Manager. You will be accountable for overseeing equipment, staff, and processes to ensure safe and efficient running of the factory team and achieving production targets.


The Role
● Production Oversight: Oversee, schedule, and complete routine production activities, ensuring the production schedule is adhered to.

● Safety & Compliance: Actively assist in maintaining a safe work system and ensuring all team members are trained on and adhere to WHS&E policies and work instructions.

● Quality Control: Continuously monitor and document production volumes, ensuring product conformance to quality standards and ensuring waste minimization.

● Troubleshooting: Act as the first-line trouble-shooter for technical and quality issues. Raise work requests and appropriately escalate safety, productivity, and quality issues.

● Team Leadership/Support: Ensure the team is organized for breaks and coverage. Manage plant safety and operations when the Shift Supervisor is absent, and relieve operators during staff shortages.

● Continuous Improvement: Participate in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (O.E.E) initiatives to drive efficiencies and waste reduction


Essential Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, results-oriented, and possess excellent organizational skills.


Experience & Qualifications
● 2+ years of progressive experience in a production or technical role within a similar industry.

● Knowledge of manufacturing processes and the technical operation of equipment.

● Previous experience and understanding of process/quality improvement practices.

● Previous experience or broad understanding of safety/environmental systems, guidelines, and policies.

● Previous plastic extrusion experience is highly desirable.
